Description:

Planning Consultants Hawaii, LLC was contracted by the County of Hawaii’s Department of Planning to conduct a scenic resources inventory and mapping project and policy study to support its General Plan update.  The scope of work included identifying and inventorying Hawaii County’s scenic resources using digital photography and Geographic Positioning Systems (GPS), mapping the resources using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and rating the resources using prescribed practices and procedures. PCH also produced a report summarizing national and international scenic resource protection best practices and made recommendations to assist Hawaii County in the development of its own scenic resources protection program.
